Yetta Kurland Live! WWRL 4-18-2012 – ACT UP & Let Fury Have The Hour

 

This week we focused on activism and the arts. Jennifer Flynn of the Health Global Access Project talked about 25 years of ACT-UP and the planned demonstrations to mark ACT-UP’s anniversary. Filmmaker Antonino D’Ambrosio and attorney Leo Glickman discussed D’Ambrosio’s new film Let Fury Have the Hour. The film, which premiered this Saturday at the Tribeca Film Festival, covers arts and activism in the 1980s until now and features artists such as Eve Ensler, Shepard Fairey, and more.

Yetta Kurland Live! WWRL 4-11-2012 – NYU 2031 with Bo Riccobono, Alison Greenberg & Bertell Ollman

 

This week we spoke about the planned expansion of New York University in Greenwich Village.  Guests included attorney Alison Greenberg who is representing a coalition of community groups opposing the expansion, Bo Riccobono, Vice-Chair of Community Board 2 and NYU Professor of Politics Bertell Ollman, who is involved in a faculty group opposed to the plan.
